Probably same as Coherent. They need to make a competitive high-power laser product in order to take any share in CPO. Capacity ramp for transceivers looks very promising, though.
Jason, would you still not personally open a position in IQE even after their deals with MTSI and Tower? I’ve read a few substacks that think this will help them turn things around. It’s so cheap in my opinion that it wouldn’t take much movement to have some gains.
Paradis labs is quite bullish on IQE, and aleabitoreddit (both after dilution). I sold after the mtsi deal pump because did not see that as the best outcome, but have bought back in at a .46 average.
Hi Jason, Great share, super insightful!!! One thing I've been chewing on though — my biggest position was Soitec, but I'm increasingly buying the AXT thesis. From first principles, going long photon volume just feels safer and more fundamental. EML vs CW, SiPh vs EML vs TFLN — modulation platforms all carry tech roadmap contention risk. Beta's big, sure, but photon volume itself is the more fundamental absolute beta?
Winner of the giveaway is @kyl
What do you think about $AAOI?

What do you think of $AAOI in the CPO context?
Can you explain once again difference between IQE and AIXA? Is IQE using Aixtron's equipment?
yes exactly
Can't understand the hype around it. Shitty balance sheet, dilution, and no defensible moat, no?
photonics retail pump maybe. sad whats happened to this space
